The 1001 Notes Festival was created in 2005 with the aim of bringing regional heritage back to life through classical music.
The festival was originally named Estivales du Chalard, offering concerts for three years in the Abbey of the same name as well as in other iconic locations in Limousin.
In 2009, it merged with the Saint-Robert Festival (L'Été Musical) to create the 1001 Notes Festival, a name inspired by both the Plateau des Millevaches and the tales of One Thousand and One Nights.
Between 2011 and 2015, the event expanded to include new music genres, such as jazz and rap, while developing initiatives for young artists.
Since 2016, the 1001 Notes Festival has continued to grow with the support of partners such as the Orange Foundation and the Caisse des Dépôts.
Throughout the year, concerts are offered in partnership with local venues.
The 2025 edition will mark the 20th anniversary of the festival with a carefully selected lineup.
You will find renowned artists such as Lucienne Renaudin-Vary, Félicien Brut, Yom, Camille Thomas, Alexandre Tharaud, Anne Queffelec, Gaspard Dehaene, Jean-François Zygel, Alexander Boldachev, Marie Ythier, Nemanja Radulovic, Double Sens, Paul Colomb, Michèle Pierre, and many others.
The concerts will primarily take place at the Olympic Ice Rink of Limoges, located on Boulevard des Petits Carmes.
